Post by: Ellis Vener on February 28, 2012, 09:23:06 am
An article from Chromix's blog: http://blog.chromix.com/2011/08/lion-bites-icc-profiles.html, dating back to August 2011.

It was one of the reasons for me to stick to 10.6

I also noticed creating a 10.6.8 system from scratch creates a very fast and reliable system...

and started to use Totalfinder, it makes tabs possible in the finder and it is easy to show hidden files.

An alternative is to make the user library visible permanently. I've found this an easier approach if you either need to update profiles on a semi-regular basis or use profiling software (monitor or printer) that chokes if it cannot find the profile library. A quick guide is here (http://www.drycreekphoto.com/icc/mac_osx_sys_profile_folder.html).

It's nice to update this.  We have collected several options for temporary access & the permanently visible workaround mentioned by Ethan, on our Lion Migration Tool page on the ColorWiki:

Another trick is to use the Finder command "Go to Folder…" while pressing the Option/Alt key, as written above. Once the Library folder is open, drag its proxy icon to the sidebar (see screenshot).
