A few days ago, someone was asking about images taken with the Hartblei HCam with the Canon 24mm f/3.5 TS E Tilt-Shift lens, and I currently have this camera on loan for review. On my flickr now, are some sample images taken with the Canon 24mm f/3.5 TS E, Nikon 50mm f/1.4G and 24-70mm f/2.8 lenses. They are labeled with what lens was used. Comments welcomed. All images were taken with my PhaseOne IQ180.

My full review of this camera, will be online soon, after I have used it for a little while longer.

Yes, the images taken with the Canon 24mm TS E lens are all frame because it has a large enough image circle to cover the full sensor. Other lenses are cropped, I will show examples of this in my review which will be up in a few days. It will also have a video to go along with it.
I have not had a chance to compare it to the Nikon, but I would assume you would yield similar results, certainly in terms of image circle.

Hey Brian,
Although understandably the emphasis is on the T/S lenses, I'd love to see how much image circle you get for "regular" 35mm lenses like the 50/1.4, at various apertures. If I had a HCam I'd use it largely with such lenses (wider, faster, just different on an oversized sensor), even if they run out of image circle and sharp definition way before the corners.

As i see the nikon PCE lenses are only to be used wide open due to their electrical powered diafragma.. ?
Interesting camera system!
I understand also their super rotators are very good, but bulky

the coolest lens for the HCam is the Zeiss Planar 1,4/85mm. It covers full frame supersoft with a bit of vignetting wide open and perfectly sharp and covering from f8-11,5.
I also have an old vivitar 1,2/55mm which gives about 40x40mm wide open with a beautiful bokeeh. About the same for the 1,4/50mm zeiss planar, Most surprising my recent discovery: the old AF-D Micro Nikkor 2,8/60mm covers full frame 645 razorsharp ! Same with the Zeiss 2.0/100mm Makro.
there are so many lenses to try : best candidates old Contax and Leica R. I had a Leica 2,8 180mm covering 645 not quite but with nice bokeeh. a 250 telyt was perfect.
The longer teles may work depending how far their back lens is inside the barrel. real teles longer than 300mm may cause barrel vignetting, long telezooms will probably work most.

Stefan, that's wonderful!
Is there an emoticon for "drooling with lusty excitement"? ;D

This is a small version, of the uncropped full frame file taken with the Nikon 50mm f/1.4G (Stopped all down to approx f/22, its harder to be precise with the Novoflex Nikon G to Canon Adapter), as you can see from the image on my flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/brianhirschfeldphotography/6697609353/in/photostream) which is the cropped version of this file you still maintain the majority of the image (I'd say you loose between 20-25%) which is not terrible especially when working with 60-80mp backs like my IQ180, but still an acceptable loss on a standard 40mp sensor.
full review coming soon on my website brianhirschfeldphotography.com and I will also post a video introduction to the camera as well.

I like it! You could probably crop a ~48 mm wide panoramic image out of it, or a 40mm square, or anything in between...and it looks like it would fill a 44 x 33 mm sensor.
