I know most people would just buy a new camera if their old consumer grade one malfunctions.
I bought the professional camera warranty Mack Camera and Video offers because I had already decided the main use of my camera was going to be
outdoors and in as rugged an environment as I wish to shoot.
That's why I chose a 1700 dollar camera over a pricier model.
I figure if you're going to invite disaster you may as well keep in budget,
so
After 3 or more years shooting this thing the depth and clarity of what I've been shooting begins to deteriorate. I thought it was me until I made many exposures in my studio with text and spotlights.
I couldn't get it focused to save my life.
Finally I send it to Mack.
BAM,!
quick as that they process the return, get it to the right department, fix it(according to the repair tag fixed a malfunction), and ship it back within 5 days of getting it.
I still don't have the thing so can't say,
but I am mightily impressed with the warranty service offered by Mack.
I hope it works perfectly when it gets here!
I'm sure it will.
Just to let you know the warranty is a great value some 4 years later...

yep they fixed it-
said they cleaned the ccd and restored function to factory specifications.
It works as good as new
fixed the hot shoe,(i don't do flash)
replaced the focus screen,
Im as happy as a goat in a flower garden
