In case you were looking for them, here are the Nikon announcements
1V1 (http://imaging.nikon.com/lineup/acil/bodies/v1/)
1J1 (http://imaging.nikon.com/lineup/acil/bodies/j1/index.htm)
Crop factor seems to be 2.7, F adapter is here (http://imaging.nikon.com/lineup/acil/accessories/mount_adapter_ft1/).
Me, I think that the new sensor will be getting 1/10 of the light of the big ones, add lenses which are at least two stops slower than what we usually use now, and I think that as it is gathering 5 stops of physical light less than the full-frame Nikon D3s this offering is PRESENTLY carefully tailored not to conflict with Nikon's current "real" SLR lineup.

I know it's meant for the prosumer group, but give us f 1.2 constant app lenses, major image stabilization, less menu functions, more traditional switched and dials like f stop, shutter, fps and most importantly sound bars and xlr or mini xlr inputs for sound (two inputs, two channels).
Ah . . . I guess it's not meant for this market.

Mr. Light,
If I were you, I'd run to rustle up the first one
BECAUSE
400 fps and 1200 fps video clips are going to be so passé once more than 10 people with your client list get their mitts on it.
Not to mention all those nature-lover sites which will be showing bees in flight.

PS This must be the most disgusting pun I ever posted. Apologies.

I couldn't possibly be less interested in the format of these cameras.

Met some guys today who cover aircraft meetings - pointed out to them that the 1V1 is an adapter that will turn their existing Nikon 400mm lenses into 1200, they liked hearing that :)

It doesn't turn a 400mm lens into anything else. It throws away most of 400's image circle.

You are right.
However the new compacts put a different, denser, pixel array in the core of that image circle, and provides commensurately accurate autofocus sensors.

You've tested the AF sensors?
