This BS marketing campaign keeps popping up all over the place. Rapid Prototyping (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapid_prototyping) has been around since the 80's.

But maybe this is the beginning of mass commercialization when we'll all have one on our desks...

Here (http://www.shapeways.com/) is an example of accessible customized manufacturing.

As I said in another thread about these printers that small ones are even in schools. So definitely not revolutionary possibly evolutionary.
