One of my friends came over with his I1Pro. I decided to run it through i1Diagnostics and look at the data, compared to mine. Given that I don't what what's considered "perfect" data I wasn't sure what the comparison could be saying with regard to one or the other being more accurate etc. Wondering if one of you smarter members out there could help.
This was done on a calibated Sony FW900 display (i1Match calibrated). Each i1Pro was checked on its own calibration pad. They are both Rev D, non UV-cut devices.

What does "Dark measurement count" and "Lamp burning time" mean?
-
Hi,
They are pretty close what I can see, not that I have experience with i1 pro. Lamp burning time is probably the time the lamp used for reflectance measurement has been used.
Best regards
Erik

Thanks Erik. I'm a little troubled, though. I used his to calibrate my monitor and afterward the grayscale and gamma (measured on ColorHCFR) came out much less linear through his. Here's a sample showing the grayscale. His is on the left.

Each i1Pro was checked on its own calibration pad. They are both Rev D, non UV-cut devices.
A good opportunity to measure the other calibration pad and then reconsider the measured differences.

I hadn't thought of that Ernst. Fortunately he let me hold on to his setup. I just ran the test with his sensor, cal target, and holder (like last night), and then switching in my cal target and even my holder. The differences between measurement runs aren't really worth posting. They look essentially identical to the above, while mine looks different (again above). While his looks bumpier (and has him worried alright), that doesn't mean mine is right either. How does one find out for sure?

Sorry, the only thing I was interested in was what difference there is between the calibration pads, if there is a difference. So if you calibrate on the pad that belongs to one spectrometer and then measure the other pad, does it differ from measuring its own pad? The same for the other spectrometer. I would expect more deviations between the two spectrometer's total ranges of measurements than in the white reflection measurements of the calibration pads. And expect the calibration pads to be identical in white reflection. Just to check the obvious I suggested to measure the pads, I did not suggest to calibrate on the other pad.

Ah, I misunderstood. Okay, using his i1Pro I get (in Lab):
Calibrated on his pad -
His calibration tile: 95.5, -0.4, 2.3
My calibration tile: 94.8, -0.4, 2.8
Calibrated on my pad -
His calibration tile: 95.4, -0.2, 2.0
My calibration tile: 95.0, -0.3, 2.4
Using my i1Pro:
Calibrated on his pad -
His calibration tile: 95.5, -0.4, 2.6
My calibration tile: 95.8, -0.6, 2.9
Calibrated on my pad -
His calibration tile: 95.6, -0.3, 2.3
My calibration tile: 96.2, -0.5, 2.5
