Title: speckles from my 4880
Post by: Didymus on June 23, 2011, 01:49:20 am
My Epson 4880 is almost to the end of its first set of ink cartridges and it just started leaving a faint vertical row of speckles.  Just after it happened I cleaned the heads.  It seemed to be fine for a couple of prints then I noticed them again.  Anybody have any ideas?

Tommy

Whenever this has happened to me it has proved to be a tiny hair or bit of fluff stuck on the print head. Running a cleaning cycle should get rid of it. Always keep the printer covered with a (lint-free) cloth or towel!

PS If you change the carts the purging routine may well flush away the debris.
