Title: Hasselblad H Shutter release
Post by: jonathan.lipkin on June 03, 2011, 11:42:26 am
Just bought an H3Dii39. The Hasselblad shutter release is $85, and there are plenty on ebay for only a few bucks. While I'd be suspicious of using a third-party battery, for instance, isn't the release simply completing a circuit, so I'd think that really any brand would be ok and not damage the camera.

Just get the el cheapo Chinese (Yong Nuo?) wireless stuff. Buy 2 (they tend to break after a while) for a fraction of the price of the wired HB release. They work fine.

Yes indeed.
You could use almost any cable release build for cheaper Canons.
They use the same 2,5mm stereo radio jack.
e.g. Canon RS 60E3

I have build some "special" release cables in the past to release two cameras at the same time (also of different manufacturers) or controll a radio remote system.

You could release almost any camera by completing a circuit, exept Nikons ;-)
For Nikon you need to complete two circuits. (red and white cables on ground) (Testet with only one Nikon camera yet)
