Title: Canon announced two new printers ipf8300S ipf6300s

It has 8 ink cartridges rather than 12, and uses the same Lucia EX link, so I am not sure if this a replacement for the existing line (ipf8300/6300/6350), or filling in the gap with cheaper model?

It's a cheaper model - aimed to be Epson x890 series competitor.

It's defiantly not a replacement. The "S" printers are designed for speed, primarily for the CAD market. They are crazy fast - the S is truly for speed. They've had the S line of printers for quite a while, this is just a scheduled refresh.

Still no 17" printer with 12-color Lucia EX inks? I guess that's good since it'll just save me money since I can't buy one :P
