Are unopened Epson UltraChrome inks for the 2100/2200 with an expiration date of June 2006 still of any use, or should I forget about them?

been using ink from 2005 in my 2100.
the printer has recently died but i don't think it's from the ink. i gave away what i had left to somebody who has been using out of date ink from ebay with no problems.
i would just make sure it's warm and give it a good shake before using.
