There are over one million volunteers working in Australia. For a population of around twenty million that's a decent number. Obviously there are some situations where it is the right thing to do. The Queensland floods is a prime example.

Unfortunately photography seems to be an area where exploitation is rife. We just have to looknout for the sharks.
