Off topic, I know, but wondering if anyone has a solution for a fabric to do rear projection on? My thought is to project a background from behind, with a small set built in front of the "screen" on the other side - thus projecting a background for the photo.
thoughts?

www.avstumpfl.com might be a good place to start.

Thx dick. Peeped that, looks like screens essentially.
I'm looking for a piece or type of fabric that I could stretch across a frame that is translucent enough to see a projection thru it.
Roughly 10x8 ft, maybe 10x10
Anyone?

They do (materials for) rear projection screens... have you tried contacting them?

Jim,
Da-lite makes the best rear screen material and cuts it to size and even installs grommets for mounting.

Try them,

You can check any sailmakers loft and you might find good synthetic, stiff material there that they use on windsurfing sails.

Thx again guys, I,ll look into these 3. Sorry dick, the site in German, I couldn't navigate well. There is a sailboat/sailmaker right up the street from my studio. Cut to size with grommets sounds nice!
