Title: Obtaining Stock ICC Profiles from Stock Epson Printer Drivers?

We have a few Epson large format printers, including the 3800, 3880, 9880, and 9900, that we print a wide variety of work on. Is there a way to pull the ICC profiles from the stock Epson drivers and give them to customers without having them install printer drivers? We want to provide them to our customers, so they can softproof their work before they give them to us.

ICC profiles can be found in the following location (depending on your OS):

Windows 2000, XP, Vista – C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color
Mac OS X –  /Library/ColorSync/Profiles
Mac OS 9.x – System Folder/ColorSync Profiles

Profile files can be copied and emailed to your customer for softproofing.

The Epson driver installs the profiles into packages (at least on Mac), not in the locations specified. Easiest way to find them on the Mac is using the ColorSync utility, jot down the path, then when you get to the package, right click, show package content and dig down to get to the ICC profiles, copy them elsewhere. Should be a similar technique on Windows.

Sorry for my knowledge gap re:Epson profile location on a Mac. Windows loads them in the location listed above - no package.

Also confirming the profiles are in the same file location for Windows 7.

Thanks for the tips! We were able to use both Mac and PC methods for extracting the profiles from the stock drivers.
