Post by: stever on April 26, 2010, 06:03:07 pm
after upgrading my 2 year old Dell laptop to Windows 7 64 bit, find than Windows 7 doesn't support the PCMIA slot and my trusty Delkin Cardbus 32

how can i get images off the CF and on my computer in a reasonable amount of time?

There are dozens of USB card readers, some supporting more than one card format. I don;t think there's much to choose from between them, transfer speed is a function of your CF card speed and the USB connection.

i have a generic usb card plugged in now which is transferring data at .75mb/s - about 2/3 of a minute for each 5D2 image!

Dell generally uses a TI (Texas Instruments) Cardbus Controller,  to my knowledge, you're out of luck on 64bit support for it.
