Title: 3800 blurred edge

I have just acquired an Epson 3800. Prints beautifully at A2, except that there is a blurring along the bottom edge of the image (which is 22.5 inches long). The image is also very slightly skewed, and the blur increases towards the right hand side of the print, being perhaps 3mm wide at the widest point. I'm using Gold Fibre Silk, loaded one sheet at a time into the auto sheet feeder. Can anyone advise?

I don't know about the blurring, but I can comment on the skewedness.  My old 3800 started skewing large prints when using the auto sheet feeder.  I got around it by using the back manual feed instead, and applying pressure by hand to the top of the sheet while it feeds in order to get it to feed relatively straight.  (I also use Gold Fibre Silk.)

Eric Chan ("madmanchan" on this forum) has a comprehensive 3800 FAQ.  I wonder if your printer's feed roller needs to be cleaned?

Thanks Paul, but I don't think so - it's brand new. I've just tried setting the platen gap to wide, which reduces the blurring a lot though not completely. I suspect I can't print that close to the edge of the paper (less than 1/2 inch)

Ok - that does seem to be the issue. Not the platen gap, but the distance to the edge of the paper. A 21" print is fine (1 1/4 inches from the end of the paper).
