Title: Canon 1Ds Mark II Dynamic range?

[font color=\'#000000\']Discussions of dynamic range are sometimes tough since the "useable" range will usually be less than the technical maximum.  In any event I would think it would likely be in the range of 8 or 9 stops - others can jump in, but I think the 1Ds was a bit more than 7.[/font]

[font color=\'#000000\']7-9 stops is quite generous I think. 5-6 stops is more accurate, however if you use the information at the ends of a RAW file by blending the image you can certainly get up to 9-stops.[/font]
