Internet etiquette 101:
Typing in all caps is the equivalent of yelling and is considered rude (regardless of intent). Not only that but it's more difficult to read and a good way to get ignored. Please turn off the Capslock key.
CF cards are formatted in FAT (16 or 32) and the mac uses HFS+. OSX wants to make the drives HFS+. There should be a way to keep it from doing that as it is capable of reading and writting to FAT drives but I'm not sure how as I currently am not a Mac user.

*** Robert is using Mac OS 9 ***
Robert, you may try to read this (http://www.lexar.com/support/faqs_mass_storage.html) FAQ on the Lexar website and make sure you have not disabled the Mass Storage extension(s).
