Title: Taking Canon 10D and battery charger  to Paris

According to one website, France has got 220 V, 50 Hz outlets.  If you're from Toronto, I would think your best bet would be to check out the "Battery Plus" shop at the airport terminal.  They've usually got adapters for international travel for sale.

Hi,

I was wondering if I just need a plug adapter or an actual wattage converter...the voltage on the charger says 120-240v..thanks so much for any help.

All of the EU (including the UK and the new candidate countries -- Hungary, Czech republic, Estonia, Latvia, Croatia, Cyprus etc etc and not forgetting Russia and Turkey) works on 220V 50 Hz so your charger will work.

The UK used to have 240 V AC but now conforms to 220V --not that the 20V difference caused any problems anyway.

Any 120-240V charger will work -- these are usually auto sensing so as long as you have the correct mix of sockets and plugs -- no problem.

If you are coming from Canada / USA and are used to a 110V system remember the amperages will be different.

Ohms Law applies as always -- Power in Watts = Voltage X Current in Amperes.
