Title: Bryce in a day-and-a-half?
Post by: Tom H. on April 10, 2009, 05:37:03 pm
I have but a day-and-a-half at Bryce, and as I do my research, I see there are many options; from driving the rim road, to a 23 mile multi-day hike below the rim.
I'm wondering if anyone here, has done the myriad of trails and what advise you might have.
Alas, my time is short, so I want to be sure to hit the highlights.
Staying at the lodge, so I can hit the trails dark and early, for some good sunrise shots.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

My favorite NP, been there several times throughout the year and its alway amazing. Sunrise is where its at in Bryce, not much happening at sunset, very little light for photography then.

Shouldn't miss at sunrise but its still amazing all day.

1- Bryce Point
2- Inspiration Point.

Favorite trail:

Start at Sunrise point, Queens Garden trail then connect to Navajo Loop and come up at  Thor's Hammer, Sunset point. There's photo ops all along the trail.

Have a great time!

Stay at Ruby's or the Bryce lodge and do sunrise for two days....On the full day at Bryce, do the sunrise and then spend the rest of the day at Zion.

I agree, but I think the easier hike is to go down Navajo/Wall Street then to Queens Garden and up to sunrise point. Less of a steep climb out of the canyon.

Definitely don't miss "Wall Street", though not necessarily for photography; it's not a good sunrise/sunset place, but a heck of a lot of fun any time of day (you'll understand when you see it).

Definately have to camp out at Bryce to wait for a few sunrises.
