I want to shoot my next beauty gig with my new H2. It will be a macro makeup sort shoot. Lots of close ups with some full face stuff.
Is it better to shoot with the 120 Macro? Or the 150 and an extension tube? I will be renting the lenses because I only own the 80

The 150 with an extension tube will give you at least the fastest AF. The 210 with an extention tube will give you the ultimate quality but with a slow AF (but geez.. if you really want to count lashes and see their follicles it is definitely the way to go). The 100 with an extention tube will give you something in between. Naturally all will give a different perspective when generating the same crop (eg. a full face).
If the 80 is the only lens you have experience with you will be surprised by the quality of the other HC lenses.
Sorry the HC120 is the only lens (besides that new ultra-expensive zoom) I don't have.

The HC 120mm's strength, aside from great image quality,
is its versatility in covering the entire range from macro to full body
all without the need for extension tubes.
Sometimes I wish it were a longer focal length (150 or 180mm?)
• so there's more working distance to accommodate the lighting,
• so I'm not uncomfortably close to the model, especially for macro.
