Title: 360 degree panos with single shot - circular fisheye

A year or more ago, I ran across a web site that had a bunch of very interesting (if somewhat unusual) 360 degree panos taking with a circular fisheye lens, with the camera positioned so the lens pointed straight UP. The horizon then became the perimeter of the circular image. The photographer then used software to map the image to the inside of a cylinder, and unroll the cylinder into a flat image.

As long as there wasn't overhead detail, the effect was striking. With overhead detail (e.g., power lines) the effect was certainly interesting.

Anyway, I can no longer find that site. Anyone know what I'm talking about and have a link?

Ahh, the 0-360 Panoramic Optic (http://www.0-360.com/camera.asp) or Kaidan 360 One VR (http://www.steves-digicams.com/2002_reviews/360one.html) will let you do it.

No, that's not what I remember.  Thanks though.

The photographer I'm thinking of used a standard circular fisheye, so he got all the sky (or ceiling) in the image, and cropped much of it out after processing the image.

I guess I'll keep hunting.
