Obviously, it's The Invisible Man attempting to get an action shot of a kangaroo strangling a tourist. Funny, I don't remember Claude Rains being that tall.

Yes, the Hassy is of course falling off the Earth due to gravity.  The girl forgot to keep holding onto a tree, thank goodness the 'roo was there.
