Title: Canon's Financials for 1H 2008
Post by: BruceHouston on July 29, 2008, 03:54:21 am
From Canon website:

Value of camera sales is up slightly over first half of 2007 (529 billion yen vs. 520 billion yen last year).  However, operating profit is down by over 5.1%.  That may mean a tightening of budgets in digital camera development, although I sure hope not.

There is no breakout between DSLR and P&S.

However the amount of money often not equal to amount and level of innovation.  We have Apple and Microsoft as a good example.
