Title: AFD 645 QUESTION

I wonder if anyone here that owns a Mamiya AFD 645 has used it mounting a view camera lens.

In other words, can the camera be shot when no lens is mounted?  and if the answer is positive, is there a way to override this so that a bellows and leaf lens can be somehow adapted for PC tilt/shift close up studio photography?

You can shoot with a bellows attached or an all manual lens attached or no lens attached. In fact it is pretty easy to attach a view camera lens to a bellows and shoot with that.  Not only that, but the older manual bellows for the Mamiya 645 has front standard movements

Thanks I will try tomorrow, I think I got a negative experience with the RZ II 67, that is why I have not even try on the AFD, but is a TO DO even before making my coffee...

I have shot the Mamiya 645AFDII as a pinhole camera by taking a lens cap drilling a hole and then taping a piece of aluminum with a pinhole in it (thanks to Doug at the office)
Got some really cool stuff. So the answer is yes it can be operated with out a lens.
Here is a shot I did on the getdpi.com workshop last month with a P30+ and AFDII.

I took the lens off and it works!

I placed the 135mm view camera in front of the camera with no lens and it looks quite good, so I am thinking how to mechanically do the connection.

For light tight I could use a plastic camera cap. I only have to drill a hole removing the center and glue the bag bellows.

I think that the best solution would be one where the camera is the one that moves and the lens is fixed (thinking about doing multi capture and stitch) so that the Digital Back "scans" the image circle that the lens is projecting without the lens moving.

The AFD/P25 should then go mounted on the back of my Sinar, but I am not sure if it is too heavy for anything other than a P type Sinar...

The other problem could be the tunnel of the reflex mechanism that could not permit too much shift.

But there are many alternatives including the pin hole camera cap...
