Title: Image size

Hi all.

Just noticed that there is a slight difference in image size when I process Aptus files in PS & LC.

In PS I get 6088x4550
In LC I get 6096x4558

I have tried to do a search but couldn't find anything, can anyone explain? Thanks

Same thing happens with some Canon cameras processed in C1 versus PS, C1 giving a slightly larger image. The image processed is always a little smaller than the actual sensor size and it's somewhat arbitrary what a given RC chooses to process or perhaps dependent on their algorithm.

ACR (not Photoshop) usually creates an image of the "standard" size of that camera. This is the size of the in-camera JPEG image, or created by the camera maker's own converter, for example DPP.

For example re Canon: there are more pixels on the sensor (depending on the model), but Canon's custom is to create an image size in 3:2 proportion, where both dimensions are divisible by 8. These two conditions cause dropping usually 10 to 20 rows and columns of pixels.

If you are interested and upload such a raw file, I can try to figure out the true (i.e. captured) image size.
