Title: Digital file re-numbering system?

Does anybody have suggestions for a computer program on a digital file re-numbering system (something other than File Maker Pro)?  I would like to organize my images in such a way that I know exactly where to find them.  I am open to other suggestions too.

Lightroom has some pretty powerful features for renaming/renumbering/moving files.

I have heard that Lightroom is nice.  I didn't know that program can re-number.  Sweet!

You could try to dowload the trial version and see if it fits your needs. There's also a lot of - free or shareware - renaming utilities available for both Macs or Windows PCs…

I have written a freeware Batch File Rename utility that can be downloaded from my website www.michaelezra.com (http://www.michaelezra.com); link is in the announcement section on the right, with a blue icon.

Intelligent file renaming/renumbering is just one of the many highly useful things that BreezeBrowser Pro (http://www.breezesys.com/) can do for you.  I think I would give up Photoshop before I would give up BreezeBrowser.
