Title: 1Ds Mk III vs. IDs MK II

Since DPreview hasn't posted a full review of the 1Ds MkIII yet, does anybody know where to find online image comparisons between the MkIII and the MkII?

TBH I'm not sure that's really a very useful thread or comparison - dynamic range refers to the difference between brightest bright and the darkest useful information that can be captured in one exposure. Setting the 1Ds3 to highlight priority reduces exposure by one stop, of course he can recover more detail from the 1Ds3 file - the 1Ds3 is only one stop overexpsoed and the 5D two.

Not to criticise the 1Ds3 or to suggest that the (nowadays very humble) 5D is as good a tool, just the methodology is flawed.

In addition, DR is only meaningful as the range between usable highlight detail and usable shadow detail. Looking at highlight lattitude only tells you nothing except how the meter is calibrated relative to highlights.
