Title: Is there any benefit to pluggin in dual DVI?

Is there any benefit in plugging in dual DVI cables to the NEC 2690 WUXI monitor?

Im a bit confused as to why it has dual DVI input. My new PC supports dual DVI output, but not sure what if any benefit comes from this?

It's probably necessary to run the monitor at its highest (native) resolution. Dual-DVI is used when the data rate required to drive the monitor at full-resolution is higher than what a single DVI connection can handle.

I could be wrong, but I think it is so you can hook up more then one computer to your monitor, or another device that uses DVI.

I don't believe the monitor is restricted by just using one DVI using resolution 1920x1200, it isn't till you hit the 30"s displays that you need DualLink DVI and where you go above the resolution 1920x1200.

Please correct me if I am wrong, it has happend before :-)

Forgot to add I noted that the two DVI inputs on the 2690 are DVI-D and DVI-I. I guess it could be the DVI-I is there just in case someone has a video card only capable of outputting a DVI analogue signal.
