Title: canon 1ds mkII life span

I am getting ready to sell off my Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II's and In order to describe the camera accurately I would like to know how to tell how many times I have fired off the the shutter, the file count on the rear of the cameras  say 50K, but they may have ben inadvertently reset  at some point. Is there any other way to tell??

The 1dsMKII counter on the back has to reset everytime it hits 9999 and has nothing to do with total shutter actuations. The easiest way to see the actual count is to open one of your raw files in C1Pro and look at the file info panel, which will tell you, along with other things, how many actuations when that frame was taken. Does not work with the 5D unfortunately.

Thanks, Are you talking about the image serial number in the file info area of the meta data panel in C1 pro?
also kinda off topic but you seem to know your stuff, any word on the new C1 pro 4??

Correct, the info is listed just below file size.
