Hi.
I have a .mac account, and i have 2 websites which i'm hosting on there.
I recently created a photo gallery in Lightroom, and would like to
have it as part of my site.
I exported it, and it created a folder, with an "index.html" and 2
folders, "bin" + "resouces"
i would like to have this gallery replace an .htm page which i've
called "photos_page.htm"
so, i renamed "index.html" with "photos_page.htm" and dropped it into
my sites folder, along with the bin and resoureces folders, but the
page did not work. I got a white page with lots of code on it.
Any idea what i did wrong?

Hmmm.. I'm having a tough time visualising what's going on here based on your description, but I've never had much trouble using my .Mac account to host pages.
Is your "photos_page.htm" at the root of your Sites folder, with the "bin" and "resources" folders sitting along side it, or are all of those items contained within folders of their own?
By this, I mean would your iDisk look like this:
ncoutroulis
|
|
Sites
|
|
"photos_page.htm" "bin" "resources"
or like this:
ncoutroulis
|
|
Sites
|
|
photosite
|
|
"photos_page.htm" "bin" "resources"
In other words, does a URL to the page look like:
homepage.mac.com/ncoutroulis/photos_page.htm
or:
homepage.mac.com/ncoutroulis/photosite/photos_page.htm
If it's the latter in either example, everything should just work, AFAIK

hey Gabe, thanks so much for trying to help, and sorry for the confusion
here is my .mac page

and i linked it to
www.littlecoutroulis.info
it works fine, and all i want to do, is change one of the linked pages, which is on the home page. ( i dont have an index page, its called homepage.htm)
in my "sites" folder, i have another folder for this site, called "baby site"
and in there, everything is just tossed in. no folders really.
i know this is probably wrong. (right?)

Hey, well first off -- CONGRATULATIONS!! Cute kid
By the sounds of things, you should be able to do exactly what you're trying to do, so I'm confused.
The site you linked to above works just fine for me, and clicking on the "Photos" link takes me to a page called "pics page" which points to the file "photos_page.htm", as you want it to. In my experience with .Mac hosting, as long as all the code in your replacement file references all the assets properly, you should be in business.. I don't use Lightroom, so I don't really know how it handles that sort of thing, unfortunately.
Before posting it to your iDisk, did you try dragging the new "photos_page.htm" file onto a blank browser window to make sure that it works as expected when it's offline? Maybe there's a problem with the file itself..

hey thanks so much Gabe, i really appreciate it all
i did drag it to a brower, and after a strange error, it worked.
it was a "flash player security" message about settings, but i clickd ok, and it loaded and workd
now if it would only work for real.
