I recently purchased a Linhof m679cs along with a Rodenstock 35mm digital APO lens. I have it mounted on a double recessed lens board which was recommended in the B&H photo web site. The camera is beautiful but I can't get the 35 to focus. Apparently I still don't have enough recession. Has anyone else had this problem? What lens board do I need to make this lens work?

Linhof makes a 3X recess board. I've found that's realy the only one that allows focust at infinity and leaves a little room for movements with the 35mm lens.

This sounds real deep. How do you operate the shutter in this case?

It is indeed deep. You'll need to attach an agled adapter for the cable release and getting at the aperture adjustment is a little tight, but quite do-able. Given that you're operating a view camera speed is not always of the essence
