Title: iView Media Pro vs Photo Mechanic vs LR

Can i ask this question in the MF forum?

Supplementing the P25 workflow in C1PRo with the Canon RAW Files in another fast browser.

I find C1Pro sluggish in regenerating CR2 files compared to PhotoMechanic or iView Media.
Those programs are extremelly fast, and are useful for quickly tagging selects and then processing in C1.


Anyone do a similar workflow.. C1 for process and iView or PhotoMechanic for quick selects.
I think LR and C1 are both sluggish in managing the photos to view, compared with iView and PM.

IM using Macbook Pro latest model with 3gb ram

I use iviewmediapro.  I can go through and quickly delete images that I want removed from my CF card and then select the ones I want to download onto my computer.

My workflow is;

First Photomechnic for very fast checking through images..and deleting the ones I do not want. (I also use this for then renaming my files)

Then C1 for raw processing

Then ivew media pro for cataloguing all my images.

All done in four folders:
1. raw library (photomechanic sorts)
2. raw to process (C1 processess)
3. processed tiffs (C1 processed)
4. final tiffs (photoshop processed)..and then transferred to storage disk

I think it is a false economy to try to get any one programme to do these three very different jobs.
Each of the programme above does their one job really well..in my opinion.
