Title: Printing from GFX100 Sii files
Post by: Mike Guilbault on October 21, 2026, 08:29:50 pm
I recently upgraded to the Fujifilm 102MP GFX100Sii. With images of 11,648 x 8736 pixels. What are the best practices for printing on an Epson 3880? I typically use Qimage One for printing. I used to export my files from Capture One at 360ppi. Should I up that to 720ppi?

Is that the only printer you have? Your 3880 would be good for proofs but the real reason for a GFX 100 is to print big. Maybe 30x40 0r 40x60.
11,648x8736 gives you a 32x24" print at 360.
11,648x8736 gives you a 16x12 image at 720.
In Lightroom if left at native resolution your 16x12 print will be 720.

I used to have the 9900, but no longer. Retired and couldn't justify the cost to replace both heads  :-\

So, if printing a 16x20 for example, on 17x22" paper... I should set the resolution at 720?

I am a Lightroom guy and if you do not check the resolution box it would just print at the shown native resolution which in this case is 720.
Sure check the 720 box but if all you are printing is images off the 3880 you are wasting all that wonderful resolution of the Fuji.
Great files come off of those Fuji's but being able to make those large prints is where it shines.
