I heard the South Rim road at the Black Canyon had recently reopened so last night I went down there to check on a favorite tree. I had been concerned it was lost to the fire but was happy to see it still standing! These old junipers can get to 1000 years old. The fire came within 100'. I'm happy to see this one will get some more time.

The sunset was pretty nice too.

Thank you both! I was genuinely worried about this tree so I'm definitely relieved.
