I would like to change the password I have been using for the past decade.
I can't find a place in the account settings to do it.
I guess I could pretend to forget my password and go through the multistep process, but I worry about the account vaporizing if I do that.
Any suggestions?

Hi,
I am hoping I just missed the place where I can update my password. I would like to update my ancient 7 character password with a more robust example.
Is there such an option with this forum?

I think you should be able to change it at Profile>Account settings.

I thought so as well, until I tried doing so, and found no place to make the change.
I found the place where you enter your current password to "change profile" but that does not seem to result in an opportunity to do anything except possibly changing your display name.
As I mentioned, I suspect "forgot my password" may offer an path towards updating the password, but I am afraid of getting locked out forevermore.

Ah It may be that I see things when I go to that page, because of my admin status, which you don't.
It would surprise me if using "I forgot my password" resulted in your losing history or getting locked out.
I'm afraid, though, that my knowledge on the point is limited. I moderate the forums, for which I have admin privileges, but I don't pretend to understand the detailed workings of the forum software.

Jeremy, I sometimes wonder if anyone, anywhere, really understands all that they should.
Currently, my website (it’s on Weebly) is giving me a hard time. On my iPhone, it’s become almost inaccessible, and on the iPad, just a little less so - thought on the latter item, the result is variable: sometimes it works perfectly, and at others not so much.
There is no problem with it whatsoever when using my desktop computer (Windows 10).
Of course, I contacted Weebly, and they tell me it must be a local problem, as they found no difficult with it at all. Brick wall, then.

I think all I can do is to repeat this. If you're risk-averse, you could always drop the idea of changing it. If it ain't broke...

I just came here with exactly the same question. it appears that there is no way to change the forum password. As it has been viewed over 5000 times may this could be looked at.
