New Year's Eve Crested Butte
I did my annual ski up the mountain across the valley for this view. Chilly but fun!

...and a composite to include the torchlight parade that preceded the fireworks. This is the ski school instructors carrying lights and skiing down in a line.

Thanks and yeah I like how they cast color on to the snow covered ground too. A fun subject for sure.

I'm not usually a fan of fireworks photos, but these are spectacular.
I would have been tempted to use a bit of judicious masking in post to modify the white balance of the snow and perhaps the sky so they were somewhat less blue, but that's a quibble.

Thanks and yeah the blue is a bit strong. I'd tone it down a bit if I ever print this. The Adobe Landscape profile often needs the blue chanel tamed and I think I forgot to do it in this case. I blame the whisky I was sipping. 8)
I hear you about fireworks too. I like them well enough as an element in a photo but not as the main or only thing.

I'm late but I can only say bravo for your photos and your dedication. It must have been cold up there but with those spectacular shots, your heart must have been warmed (for your hands, it's another story, I guess).
