So, after realising I had spent around $1,500 on my Adobe Photo subscription and that I would have to keep paying while becoming a pensioner with much less income, I decided to end that and finally choose an alternative. I am not saying any other software is better, I think very highly of Adobe software quality.
Anyway, Black Friday is an opportunity to do that while somewhat reducing the cost a bit further. My final short list was DXO Photolab and Capture One. I already owned the Nik Collection 6 and Affinity Photo 2.
Black Friday offer from DXO was 179€ and Capture One 350€, offering no discount for the perpetual license. It might be better than DXO, which I don't think personally, but certainly never twice as good.
So, DXO it is, of course very well integrated with Nik Collection, and I'm pretty happy with the outcome, I have been a fan of U-Points for about 20 years.

True , but you can also say; "10 $€ a month is OK if you need it"; photoshop i will need - even if i am a pensionerand even then i can afford it.

Look carefully at how much future costs will be. Capture One works out more than the Adobe Photo plan. DXO is cheaper initially, but you'll find yourself on an annual upgrade cycle that may cost more than Adobe too. If you don't upgrade DXO for two years you'll need to buy it again at full price with something similar for CO last time I looked.
I never thought I'd say it when Adobe first went subscription only, but it really is the best value package now. I buy annual Photography Plan subs during Black Friday at half price from Amazon, so £62 per year. They can be 'stacked' so I'm now subscribed until 2029 for half price.

Thanks to your heads-up last year so am I.
I added 2 years this year to cover me until 2029, but IIRC is there a 5 year limit to how far ahead one can buy tokens ?

I've never seen a specific limit quoted yet.
I think it would be bold/risky to commit too great an investment anyway. Plans/packages may change in future and how Adobe would handle any difference would be guesswork.

Again , IIRC, it used to be that if your Lightroom subscription expired, one could still use it, just with the Develop and Map (and possibly Book) modules disabled.

Never seen that part of the licence agreement revoked. It's a key reason why I continue to subscribe knowing that a lot of the functionality I use will remain when I finally stop subscribing.

Yes. Maps and Develop no longer work, but other modules still do. So, you could use Quick Develop in the Library if that's all you need. You can keep importing and exporting the images.

Lightroom and Photoshop only $9.95 a month. You cannot beat that deal anywhere.

Over what period of time? At $9.95 / month that’s 12 1/2 years of access to LrC / Photoshop bundle.
I agree with Dan Berg… this is the most cost / performance deal on the planet for digital photography.

Yes, and I even find the products fantastic. What I don't want anymore is to be committed to keep shellling out money when my revenue goes down. I want to be able to delay spending.
