Title: South of the border

The state border that is. My wife and I took a mini trip to Santa Fe this week. We ate and drank well, did some hiking, shopping, and I got out to take some photos.

The April 22 moon alignment worked well with the St. Francis Cathedral

Harsh mid day light but I thought it worked out ok considering.

The moon shot was fun and I was the only one out there around the plaza with a tripod and a big lens. It attracted some attention and while I was waiting for the moon to appear people would ask what I was shooting. Then when it came out everyone around me gasped and pulled out phones and even a couple of SLRs and were all into it like we were a photo tour or something.
Then later in the evening a random person on the street asked how my photos came out.
It was pretty different from my usual solo lunar excursions.
