Title: Last Day of March
Post by: bergholt on March 31, 2024, 10:50:49 am
Taken on the last day of March - flat stretch of grass in Hellerup, Denmark, facing the Swedish nuclear power plant Barsebaeck.

Pentax K5 with Zeiss 35mm f/2 lens.

From my The Time Is Out of Joint (https://bergholt.net/time) series which references Shakespeare's 'Hamlet', one of his most known and quoted plays.

It looks so calm, relaxing with the faint orange glow. Is the small white plume of smoke (?) the nuclear power-plant?
This is good shot, thanks for sharing and for the additional info!

Good simple colors, works well. Looks like the sensor is ready for a clean up.

Thank you for the feedback & question :)

The small white triangular object is the sail of a small ship. Barsebaek itself is not visible because of the blurred out background (to me the orange glow is somewhat uncanny).

Love the colors and the feeling of this image.  Just a suggestion: eliminate the structure playing peek-a-boo with the viewer.

Thank you :)

By object do you mean the one in the left hand-side? Cropped away like this?

Simpler without the shack on the left. I like it even more...

True - what I like, though, about the original is that it has a reactor-like shape (alluding to the nuclear power plant on the other side of the sea).

I meant the ??? on the far far left.   However, I like what you did.  The image now has a different feel.  But all of this is a matter of taste.  I love the sailboat in the background.  Personally, I would play with additional crops.

Good points :) Pehaps we should do a 'crop challenge' - one photo open to cropping preferences / strategies with severael people participating?
