We arrived just as a storm was passing through. The light was spectacular!

Love it.
Were you there last October 2023 by any chance?
Only asking, because we were there too at that time and there was also a storm taking place and the dust it was kicking up was brutal. I could even taste the dust in the air, about 50 miles out before we got to the park - a bit like concrete dust, which basically I suppose, is exactly what it is.
What an amazing place.
But the good thing about the dust storm turned out to be, was that it had wiped away everyone's footprints. But the bad thing, was that the dust is so fine, it got into everything. So not a great place to change out your lens :o

It is Gypsum sand, a relatively rare sand. That is why it is white.
