Title: Blue hour - in a tiny Scottsih fishing village
Post by: Dave (Isle of Skye) on March 18, 2024, 05:32:22 pm: Totally unplanned and something of a bonus shot really. As I had already taken several dozen shots of the harbour wall in the opposite direction, during what turned out to be a quite nice seascape sunset. But then as I started to pack away my gear, I decided to turn the camera around 180 on the tripod and fire off one last long exposure shot of the village itself and this is the result.

So yes, really quite chuffed with this one ;)

Sorry David for using a word that is not international in its understanding. But for us here in the UK, "chuffed" means very pleased - as briefly explanied here (https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-e&q=chuffed) ;D

In fact I think we should spend nearly as much time looking over our shoulders, as we do looking at the main thing we are photographing. ;)

Here is the shot of the wonky harbour wall at sunset, that I had been concentrating on taking, just prior to the above "Blue Hour" shot and which had been the real focus of all my attention that evening. So to grab that one and then fire off another shot in the opposite direction, for no other reason than it seemed a good idea as I started to strip down my kit, was a real bonus that I just wasn't expecting, or had planned for.

But hey, I will take it as a win and be happy to accept any other bonus shots, that I can stumble across along the way ;D

I agree, this is my favorite of the zigzags. It reminds me (a tiny bit) Mesa Arch where the light makes the stone look like ember.
