Has anyone been able to get it working in PS 2024? It did work in PS 2023, but appears to throw an error in PS 2024 for me. Of course its no longer supported by the original creators which is a shame.. but its been my staple for printing for years for output sharpening....

THanks - I got it working this morning in MAC OS. Just had to fiddle with stupid security settings that was forcing an error.

In no hurry to do that.. Ive locked the system down now to prevent Apple breaking anything. :-) It will stay on current OS until end of life as the print machine :-)

My warning of total product failure is for anyone considering Apple Silicon and modern versions of PS.
The product is forever dead. 😢

FWIW, I've done the same and keep a Mac Pro for "special" purposes (like printing).

I know the PK sharpener will no longer work on my Mac Studio w/ PS 2024 and I know some people have said that it's all been incorporated into LR anyway over the years..... but I liked the various sharpening settings for different film size scans (120, 4x5 etc). That's not in LR anywhere is it (I suppose you'd call it capture sharpening for scans, as opposed to output sharpening for prints)?

New question: I installed PK Sharpener according to their instructions. I have two versions of PS installed: CS6 and CC 2024. PK Sharpener shows up in CS6 but not in the latest version. Any ideas as to why it isn't showing up there?
Location of the PK folder in Windows 11 is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins

PhotoKit products will not work in Photoshop CC 2024. Full stop.

Try copying or moving the PK folder to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2024\Plug-ins.
They work without issues in Photoshop CC 2024 on Windows 11

Thanks very much! That works. I mistakenly placed the PK folder in the CS6 plugins folder. ::) It's in both folders now.

Photokit Color RSA Gray Balance.

Using the well-known Print Evaluation file the following happened:
"RSA Gray Balance Standard" - a very, very subtle change in the gray "balls"....nothing else I could see.
"RSA Gray Balance Fine" - same as above.
"RSA Neutralise" - see attachment.
I then flattened that layer and "RSA Gray Balance Standard" made a reasonable effort getting it back to normal....

The Color RSA Gray Balance seems to work, although I don't know if it does the right thing.
What doesn't work sometimes is the preview with the first two options. Previews work fine with "RSA neutralise"

I will attempt to explain, without giving up too much secret sauce, what's going on under the hood. RSA routines are unique to the PK line from all others. All routines are actions using Photoshop steps. Thousands of them! RSA is also using a portion of the plug-in outside pure PS actions. The reports confirm that this may not be fully operational as intended. Further, as Photoshop progresses, anything that changes the slightest thing that would break an action will break PK. It may result in an error depending on what has changed, or it just might result in the processing being unexpected or not as designed. When PK products were viable, meaning sold and supported, we had to update actions often as Photoshop evolved (new versions). That, of course, isn't the case anymore. So, simply having the plug-in load and show a preview (or not) in no way means the product is working as it should. At some point, it doesn't run at all, as seen with M1 processors using Photoshop. If the four of the PK members wanted, we could release all the routines as actions (except RSA). Users could run them and, if necessary, 'fix' a step in the action if they knew what they were doing. There is no plan to do this. But one could fix an action or even update more routines (like sharpening screen captures for 8K) again if the user knew an appropriate setting/recipe for said actions. PK products are dead. They will run on older versions of Photoshop they were designed for. Every time Adobe updates Photoshop, the likelihood something will break exists, so you either stick with a supported version of Photoshop or risk PK products failing.

The fact that so many of us cling to PKS is a testimony to how brilliant it was. I have a Mac Studio and have moved on to Topaz Sharpen, but I miss PKS dearly. Thanks Andrew and the others for creating it.

I’m late to the party, having just upgraded to a new mini. I only want to use PK sharpener. Running under Rosetta, it looks like it is working with PS 2024. Am I missing something?
