Title: Honest Opinion on Miami?

I was in Miami this past winter doing both photography but also exploring the possibility of trying to establish a base there for work in the winter.  The impression I got was that the service professional services sector was not yet developed enough for it to be a major city.  In my field, most of the architects doing the larger commercial buildings were coming down from NYC or Chicago, with not real locals working on this type of work. 

Is this a fair assessment?

You might as Disney how they feel about Florida as a business-friendly state these days.  ;D
