You are probably right,more space at the top was necessary.Until now I have associated this bird with something bad.
I think I was wrong.

I always tell birders that until you take a close-up picture of a bird you never really see it.  Your second image allowed me to "see" this birds face.

I like the second shot a lot. A bit different and in fact both, together are even better!
