Title: Foggy Day & OLD NIKON SOFT #2 filter

I ran across from my film days a 52mm Nikon #2 Soft Filter. A miserable thick fog rolled in (we live at the NJ beach) and I decided to photograph the beach in the fog with the soft filter. In this shot the fog is just starting to lift with a hint of blue in the sky. Almost all of my modern lenses have much bigger filter threads than 52mm so I chose the diminutive Sony Zeiss 35mm f2.8 filter with 49-52mm step up ring. Exposure was 1/50 at f8 +1/2 EV, ISO 400. Rain and gull added pp. Image finished in Topaz. Camera Sony A7RIV.

Just like a painting. I cannot say why but the rain/fog makes me look and imagine a story illustrated by your photo…

Thanks guys, very kind of you. Here is a shot that has become sort of my "trademark", and originally critiqued by Michael, and the cover shot for my web site. Film era 1995, Pentax 645, and graduated Cokin Tobbaco and graduated Fog filters, stacked (remember those)? Shot on Kodak color negative film, scanned with a Polaroid 120 Sprintscan film scanner, and now it is a digital file that makes nice 20"x30" prints.

Another one shot same day.
A7RIV with 35mm Zeiss Sony lens with Nikon #2 Soft filter in place. 1/90, f8 ISO 400. Rain added PP, finished in Topaz.
