Title: Wintery spring evening

Out for another ski last night, this time it was classic XC skiing so I can bring more camera gear. The dog likes to tag along on these too.
A few years ago this time of year we were mountain biking here. That is still a ways off this year!

Nice! Pretty impressive that you still have that much snow, I'm almost envious.

the second looks almost like a warm desert view!  very special! also because of the beuatiful light.

Just almost? :) Late snow like this makes some people around here a bit grumpy. But it also thins the herd a bit with newcomers deciding mountain life really isn't for them which the rest of us generally don't mind at all.

Yes and this is a high desert and it does feel pretty hot in the summer. I love the contrast of conditions. The spring light is also nice to see even though I'm really a big fan of winter light. Thanks.

A very nice set with different light conditions. The last one has very Galen Rowell-esque colors. I especially like the first one with the bare rock formation in the foreground and the snow on the far-away mountains.

As many have expressed, the second image is a beauty. (Who made those tracks in the foreground?)

Thank you! Those are not my tracks although do do ski that way sometimes it makes a better photo from a little farther away. Probably from someone I know!

Thanks! It's a tradeoff to live here but one I think is SO worth it.
