Title: Is there anyway to export a purely random selection of photos from LR

I'm not sure this is the right forum to ask this, but since I start from a LR catalog and  there are a lot of very helpful and experienced contributors to this forum....  So here goes.

I was looking at Philip Lorca diCorcia's book Thousand the other day in which he printed 1000 photos in purely random order.  Now I spend quite a lot of time trying to sequence photographs for books etc. but these are all my decisions - i.e. what photo goes with what etc..  What interests me is a random generator that would take, say, 100 pictures from my catalog and picks them at random.

I came across this site https://randomwordgenerator.com/picture.php but that produces random photos from its own database.

any thoughts how to how to approach this from my own LR catalog?

Just a random thought.

Not that I know of. Images have to be selected to export.
You could do that blindfolded but none the less, they have to be selected to do anything.

Use a random number generator to produce a list and then select those images from a grid view of all photos.

Set up a filter for photos where the filename includes, say, "27." Assuming your camera numbers its files!
