Title: Printing this image +/- 60 x 40 inches

Guys I am going to print this image using 9 individual slices from it with each slice being a A3+ size print. Photoshop calculates each slice to have a DPI of 66 with the total Image size being 39 x 51 inches. My question is this, I know the lowest recommended resolution is 72 dpi for large format printing but do you think I can get away with it as it will be an individual picture on a large wall

Have you run it through Topaz AI Gigapixel or On1's AI Perfect Resize? Both are excellent.
Try 150 or 180 ppi and print some small samples starting with your 72 which I suspect will not meet your standards unless viewing distance is 10 feet or more. Also why so many prints, small printer? Kind of work to farm out as one print. With these very low resolutions I would suggest canvas.

Who is recommending such a small number (unless for a billboard)? And I assume you mean ppi, not dpi? Canvas could probably go as low as 100-120 ppi, but your picture seems to have plenty of excellent detail, so I would suggest, as Dan did, more like 150-180 ppi. 66 ppi seems way low for such a detailed image.

if running on 1440 dpi printer divisions of 1440 to get even numbers work the best, 1440/8 =180, 1440/12=120, 1440/15=96, 1440/18=80, 1440/20=72, 1440/24=60.

It's a stunningly dramatic image, and I would want to get the best print possible from it. I've processed several images, as low as 16 megapixels, up-rezzed with Gigapixel AI to 360 ppi; and then had them printed (since I can't print that large myself) up to 60 inches wide. They all came out fine.

Hi I actually just learnt how to increase the resolution with a few simple steps in Photoshop CC. Yes I need to do this like this as my printer is a small A2 Epson P800.
So what I’ve done is slice the original image (shot with my Nikon D4s) into 9 equal pieces then resized each of those individual images to 300 ppi from 72ppi. I will now print each of these slices and get the framing shop to mount them onto a large enough picture frame board with a black background and then just leave a few few millimetres (say 5mm) around each frame (a wee bitty like a jigsaw puzzle). I will post up the finished picture once it’s finished

Here is one I did a few years ago but this image was shot with a Hasselblad H6D 100c so plenty of megapixels to play with. This is 4 x A2 prints joined together.

I think I remember seeing that one here, too. It's also a very nice image.
