A couple of days ago, my brush A in LR just decided it would no longer work. Fortunately, brush B and Erase are perfectly fine. This seems to be just the latest weirdness with LR. It's also why I hate the money-mill subscription model. Rather than re ally working to refine a program, Adobe releases all these "updates" and invariably breaks something while in teh effort to provide "value-added" with the subscription. Another good reason to avoid the Capture One subscription model.

Try resetting your Lightroom preferences:

Quit Lightroom Classic.
macOS: Press and hold the Shift + Option keys.
Windows: Press and hold the Shift + Alt keys.
While holding down the keys, launch Lightroom Classic.
When asked, select "Yes".

Thanks, Andrew. I'll see if that works.
