Doing some holiday weekend searching, I had a look to see if there were some unknown stitching software options and I found one - PanoramaStudio.
Something different about is it that it asked me to position the horizon. There are also warnings about overlap if you skimp there.
The only problem I found with the result was it had trouble with large blue skies and couldn't merge them well.
This particular panorama is comprised of 3 images that Lightroom cannot present with an even/flat horizon - LR's horizon has a tear.
With a bit of photoshopping, I can probably blend in the sky but I'd rather not have to. The banded sky is easier to work with than a torn horizon.
I also tried:
- Gigapan Stitch - it failed dismally.
- Panoweaver - it requires converting raw files to tiff and then merging tiff which isn't the workflow I'm looking for. Output looks acceptable.
